‘Museums as Institutions of Social Empowerment’ will be an international conference that focuses on the various ways museums could participate in public education and the empowerment of Hungarian youth. The conference would also like to emphasize certain aspects of these national cultural programmes, such as quality management, sustainable funding, and the engagement of underprivileged youth.
We count on museum professionals, cultural leaders and cultural policy-makers who are interested in successful international programmes promoting the collaboration of educational institutions and museums. We welcome lecturers from Hungary and from other European countries. The conference will provide an opportunity for the participants to enrich their knowledge with good examples and good practices from the field of museum education, and to learn more about collaboration between museums and public education institutions in Hungary and beyond.
The conference is organized by the Hungarian Open Air Museum (Szentendre), with funding from the European Social Fund, the Hungarian State, and the Ministry of Human Capacities.
