VALUE, IMPACT, CHANGE - 36 MONTHS FOR MUSEUMS AND LIBRARIES: MUSEUM AND LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT FOR EVERYONE PROJECT ACCOMPLISHED

23 Jan 2020 Szentendre - The achievements of the priority project ‘Museum and Library Development for Everyone’ EFOP-3.3.3-VEKOP-16-2016-00001 were presented on 23 January 2020 at the Hungarian Open Air Museum. By the 2 billion HUF non-refundable EU grant, within the Széchenyi 2020 programme, the project implemented between 1 February 2017 and 31January 2020, prepared institutions and professionals in the museum and library field to respond to the new social-economic challenges. During the implementation of the project, special attention was paid to increase young people’s access to culture and to the convergence of underprivileged people.

THE MUSEUM SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE (MIKSZ) IN THE ARENA: TO SUPPORT MUSEUMS AND SCHOOLS

27 November 2019, Budapest – No. 20 of the Museum Compass series published by the Museum Education and Methodology Centre, Hungarian Open Air Museum (MOKK, SZNM) was released and reviewed on 27 November at a press conference held at the Budapest Grand Circus. The volume titled ‘MIKSZ - Practical Guide to School Community Service in Museums’ supports the better organization of the school community service (IKSZ), with special focus on the venue of the museum. The press release was followed by a methodology day for students performing school community service, as well as teachers and museum experts.

CultureBonus – MUSEUM EDUCATION PILOT PROGRAMME FOR THE DISADVANTAGED TO CATCH UP

21 November 2018, Miskolc – Between 1 February 2017 and 31 January 2020 in the regions of North-Hungary and North-Plains, within the CultureBonus pilot programme the 35 museums and 40 public education institutions (schools) collaborate, and 6000 students take part in the museum education sessions offered by the museums.

Sixteenth National Museum Education Year Opening Ceremony – Top museum educators acknowledged

1 October 2018, Szolnok – Award for Excellence in Museum Education, and Excellent Museum Educator Award for outstanding individual achievement, the most prestigious acknowledgments of Hungarian museum education were handed over at Aba-Novák Agora Cultural Centre by Péter Fekete Secretary of State responsible for culture.

13th Autumn Festival of Museums

27 September 2018, Budapest –150 museums of more than 60 settlements are expecting visitors with colourful programmes all over the country from 1 October to 11 November within the Autumn Festival of Museums. The Ministry for Human Capacities together with the organiser of the festival the Museum Education and Methodology Centre (MOKK), Hungarian Open Air Museum provided information for the press about the rich programmes of the Festival starting on 1 October.

The most eminent of museum education awarded at the 15th National Museum Education Year Opening

25 September 2017 - Excellence in Museum Education, and Excellent Museum Educator Award for Lifetime Achievement –  regarded to be the most prestigious acknowledgments of Hungarian museum education ever since it was established in 2003 – were handed over by Dr. Annamária Vígh, head of Public Collections Division, Ministry for Human Capacities (EMMI) and by Dr. Miklós Cseri, director general of Skanzen at the 15th National Museum Education Year Opening, on 25th September 2017.

The most eminent of museum education awarded at 14th National Museum Education Year Opening

26 September 2016 - The Excellence in Museum Education and the Excellent Museum Educator Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement regarded to be the most prestigious acknowledgement of Hungarian Museum Education were handed over by Magdolna Závogyán, deputy secretary of state, responsible for culture at the 14th National Museum Education Year Opening held in the Hungarian Natural History Museum on 26th September 2016.

11th Autumn Festival of Museums to be launched

26 September 2016 - Visitors are welcome all over the country for seven weeks with 1700 programmes of 150 museums within the Autumn Festival of Museum to be launched on 26th September the slogan of which this year is “Build bridges. – Bridge that connects” reflecting on the Széchenyi memorial year organised to appreciate the oeuvre of the “greatest Hungarian”.

Cooperation for Acting Communities

06 June 2016 Szentendre - Today the Hungarian Open Air Museum, NMI Institute for Culture Non-profit Ltd. and the National Széchenyi Library entered into a consortium agreement. The aim of the consortium is to file an aid application for the call “Acting Communities – active community engagement EFOP-1.3.1-15” within the Széchenyi 2020 programme, and in case of winning, to realize its goal in joint cooperation.
