9th National and 5th International Conference of Adult Learning on Museum

The 9th National and 5th International Conference of Adult Learning will be held in online form between 10 and 11 May 2021. The opening plenary sessions, workshops and panel discussions will reveal many current issues. The presenters will analyse connections and collaborations between higher education institutions and museums. A nationwide research on this subject and practical experiences gained from the partnership will be introduced. Different aspects of the socially responsible museum like museum programs for young and older adults with social disadvantages as well as international examples of equal opportunities methods applied by museums will be presented as well.

The following topics will also be discussed: museum and community organization, opportunities of online community building in museums, communication strategies in museums, best practices of museum communication in cooperation with higher education. In order to achieve professional self-reflection, the new system of adult education and the topic of museum quality assurance, as well as the conflicting interests, values and perspectives of different museum disciplines, the exploration of different and common points of view are also part of the conference program. In addition to discussing the lessons learned from the sections and workshops together, optional visual experience programs and promotional short films offered by the hosts will complete the museum discourse during the two days of the conference.

The Pulszky Society – Hungarian Museum Association is pleased to announce a call for papers for its online conference on ‘INTERNAL FORCES AND INTERACTIONS IN THE PRESENT WORLD OF MUSEUMS’, which will be held on 10-11 May 2021.

The detailed program of the conference is attached.

We are inviting expressions of interest and proposals for the international session of the conference.

Title of the international session: Social responsibility and new opportunities for inclusion during Covid-19

Date: 11 May 2021, 09.30 am-11.00 am CET

Chair: Zsuzsa KOLTAI Phd assistant professor (University of Pécs, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences).

Presentation timing: 15 min.

The deadline for proposals is 10 April 2021.

Proposals should include:

-          Presenter name, title, organization

-          Title of the presentation

-          Brief description of the presentation (1200-1500 characters)

The presentations of the conference will be published in the special issue of the Knowledge Management, peer-reviewed journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Pécs.
