Programme of Museum Autumn Academy

The Hungarian Open Air Museum – Museum Education and Methodology Centre (MOKK) is organizing a Museum Autumn Academy in Szentendre, Hungary from 13 to 17 September 2021, to which Hungarian and Slovakian museum specialists are invited

The Museum Autumn University, organized by the Interreg Slovakia – Hungary Cooperation Program for the Future Museums of the Future (SKHU / 1902 / 4.1 / 048 FUMU) project, provides opportunities for professional development, networking and the planning of new museum projects.

During the five-day complex professional programme, the 20 participants (10-10 museum specialists from Slovakia and Hungary) will get acquainted with contemporary museum issues and developments, as well as master the methodology of project planning. Within the framework of group work, the Slovak-Hungarian cross-border project plans will be developed with the help of mentors of such outstanding museum professionals as Bálint Havasi, Deputy Director of the Göcsej Museum, Zalaegerszeg, Zsolt Sári PhD, Deputy Director-General of the Hungarian Open Air Museum and Gábor Zsigmond PhD, Deputy Director-General of the Hungarian Technical and Transportation Museum.

The project proposals which would deal with current issues like museums and sustainability, museums and cultural tourism or museums and reintegration of disadvantaged social groups, are improved by international cooperation.  The participants will make the project plans in workshops, the location is the inspiring Hungarian Open Air Museum, in Szentendre.

We also offer to the participants outstanding insight into the extraordinary museum developments of several Hungarian museums in Budapest, Esztergom and Szentendre. The invited lecturers are renowned experts of Hungarian museums and have a wide range of experience and knowledge on international museum projects.
